The Twins Room πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

I spent lots of time researching inspiration for decorating the twins room, but then reality hit and some ideas went out of the window, as we needed to keep an eye on the budget, while providing the best for the twins.

So we went for IKEA.

For starters, we had a (quite big and not so beautiful, but very comfortable) brown extendable couch from IKEA – pretty much like an elephant in the room. We decided to keep it and I am glad we did, as it does serve as a sleeping bed (now Super Nonna is enjoying the nights with the twins, who are normally quiet, unless very hungry). But it is also very comfortable for feeding the twins, as one can lay down on the pillows or arrange them to enable double feeding (I also happen to have a twin breastfeeding pillow, which I have never used – either because I don’t have enough milk yet to breastfeed both or because they have a decent 5-10 min difference between feeding times). But enough about the couch.

Shopping in IKEA was easy, as we knew exactly what we needed – 2 cots, a changing station and a sideboard to host all the cutest outfits for the twins.

The best thing, though, is the white armchair (IKEA also), which turned out to be very useful for feeding, as it has a comfortable back one can lean on and can be easily moved around, so you can spread your legs on the couch.

To add some color to the room, we went for wall stickers (we live in Switzerland, painting but mostly repainting once you move out might be expensive) – which are also easy to remove or replace once the twins are older and bored of them.

The carpet (Anatolian Turkish carpet made of the most expensive wool) has not been a victim of any incidents yet, but we will be removing that soon and replacing it with a play rug (the carpet might be much safer in the bedroom and we’ll have it add some color to our adult life too ☺️

All in all, the twins room turned out to be an inexpensive solution, while keeping it safe, simple, cute and colorful. Can’t wait to see what the twins think of it when they grow up a bit 😍.

Time to feed two hungry mouths!
